“Personal Data” means information that identifies individuals and can be used to contact or locate such individual in real life, such as full name, email, phone number and address.
No Personal Data is collected when you merely access the public areas of our websites.

Granta also collects information that may be about you but individually does not identify you, such as job title, employer name and business contact information. Granta may also receive information from our business partners, such as our resellers.
Granta will only process your Personal Data under a lawful basis. We will process your Personal Data to fulfil our obligations to you under a contract, as required by law, with your consent or for our legitimate business interests, but only when balanced against your rights and freedoms.
Granta will protect your Personal Data using the same level of safeguards we use to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of our own equivalent proprietary information.
Granta does not collect or process any sensitive Personal Data, such as race or political opinions.
Granta Design Limited is the data controller of the Personal Data that you provide.
Granta may use your Personal Data for the following purposes:
- to provide you with the information, products or services you request and related after-sales support;

- to manage our relationship with you and to carry out any related administration;
- to identify you and give you access to specific areas of our website, such as the Granta E-Learning Site;

We care about protecting your privacy, and with the exception of the uses specified above and those outlined in the section below entitled “Third Parties”, Granta will not sell, transfer, rent out, share or disclose your Personal Data to other companies.
We use third party processors who store data on our behalf. These entities provide IT and infrastructure services for Granta’s support services and customer relationship management. Such third parties cannot use the data for any other purpose.
By using third party services, data may be transferred to, stored and processed in countries outside your country of residence both in and outside the European Union, including the United States. We take steps to ensure that third parties to whom we transfer any Personal Data in accordance with this policy agree to provide sufficient protection in compliance with applicable data protection law, such as Privacy Shield certification.
Personal Data provided in relation to registering interest or attendance at an event or webinar may be shared with partner organizations co-hosting such event or webinar. When registering, we will specifically request your permission to share your contact details with such partners.
Our website or products may contain links to third parties’ websites. Granta is not responsible for the privacy practices, cookie policies or the content of those websites.
Granta is committed to providing our users with the high level of performance, efficiency, and convenience that they have come to expect from our software products and services. In order to continually improve and better understand use patterns, and to help us provide you the best experiences with our products, Granta may collect certain data from our software in respect of activities and use practices. We might collect basic non-identifiable data about how Granta software is being used and how it performs, however this information cannot be used to identify the individual user or details of projects for which the software is being used. Granta collects and analyzes this information for purposes of product improvement and to enable us to provide better technical support and training. The analysis will also enable us to identify common customer problems and offer suitable solutions accordingly.
You may have certain rights under applicable privacy laws, including the right to access and update your Personal Data, restrict how it is used, transfer certain Personal Data to another controller, withdraw your consent at any time and the right to have Granta erase certain Personal Data about you.
