GRANTA EduPack Editions

With GRANTA EduPack 2020 the EduPack resources have been streamlined into two editions.

GRANTA EduPack 2020 Introductory

Designed for introducing materials topics and supporting interdisciplinary teaching across a range of Engineering, Science, Design, and related courses, the Introductory edition provides:

Data – the core MaterialUniverse database and a selection of introductory-level topic-specific databases. See more on introductory data here.

The Introductory edition aims to support the following learning outcomes:

  • Understand classes of materials, their properties, and the underlying reasons for those properties.
  • Understand systematic selection of materials and processes using constraints and objectives.
  • Awareness of the impact of products on the environment and how to design in a way that reduces this impact.
  • Engage with a broad range of materials – biological, functional, and fibres, as well as structural materials.
  • Understand the real-life applications of materials, across multiple disciplines of engineering and design.
  • Understand the impacts of material processing on structure, properties and performance.

GRANTA EduPack 2020

The full edition of GRANTA EduPack provides a complete set of databases and tools, including all of the capabilities of the Introductory version, but also providing support for the later years of study and for advanced project work.

The full edition aims to support the following learning outcomes:
