Restricted substances or materials-at-risk can cause huge problems for product development organizations. If you don’t respond to regulations like REACH or TCSA, the results can be multi-million-dollar costs, product delays, and reputational damage. In this webinar, we’ll see what industry leaders like Renato Favarin from EMBRAER are doing to remove risk from their materials and processes and to consider compliance during design, where change costs least for most impact.

What you will learn

  • Learn how REACH and similar legislation can affect the materials you use, and your products and processes

  • Hear from EMBRAER on best practice risk-management strategies based on practical analytics, reporting and decision-making tools

  • See case study examples of analyzing materials, processes, and specifications to eliminate risk

  • Get a tour of resources that allow you to base decisions on robust data about the materials and specifications that drive risk

  • Find out how to enable fast risk assessment as regulations change.

Who should take part?

  • Anyone interested in understanding REACH compliance

  • Product designers and simulation analysts who need to know whether the materials they use comply with legislation

  • Product stewards and REACH officers in sectors including Aerospace, Medical Devices, and General Manufacturing.

Cátia Crespo is a Biochemist and the Associate Product Manager for Product Risk at ANSYS Granta. Before coming to ANSYS Granta she completed a PhD in Biology at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Germany, and helped to build software for Biopharma as a product manager at Repositive.

Dr. Kate Osborne is the Chemical and Material Risk Specialist at ANSYS Granta. After completing her MChem Chemistry degree, she worked in the agrochemical industry and as a technician in academia. She completed her PhD in Organic Geochemistry at Newcastle University and subsequently worked in a consultancy providing technical support to REACH compliance before joining ANSYS Granta in 2018.

About Granta Design

Granta Design is the leader in materials information technology, helping engineering enterprises to manage vital data and information about materials, analyze it to develop ‘material intelligence’, and apply that intelligence to make smart decisions across product design and development. We support the entire product lifecycle by integrating materials knowledge into design, simulation, and PLM, supporting 'cradle-to-cradle' product engineering.
