What you will learn

  • Avoid wasting time and effort by investigating the wrong materials, learn from 3 real case studies from leading materials experts at Honeywell aerospace, Burberry and Saudi Aramco
  • Quickly identify the most appropriate candidate materials for a target application before committing to a design or material solution
  • Benchmark your material against alternatives and avoid wasting time
  • Discover a unique materials data source that provides complete and comparable data on all classes of materials
  • Justify your choice of material to key stakeholders using the visual analytical and reporting tools in CES Selector.

John Perek is a principle engineer in the Materials Engineering group at Honeywell Aerospace in Tempe, Arizona. We design valves, actuators, air turbine starters, missile actuation systems and rocket motor thrust vector controls. I support products from the proposal stage through design concept, production and field support, including failure analysis. I graduated from the University of Toronto with my Bachelors and Masters in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science.

Richard Waudby is a Raw Materials Engineer at Burberry. He received a Master’s from the University of Sheffield in Materials Science and Engineering in 2011. After graduating, he worked at VTT Oy, Finland, in the Tribology group led by Prof. Kenneth Holmberg. He now works on coating process development and modern manufacturing methods at Burberry.

Thibault Villette is Material Modeling Group Leader at Saudi Aramco. His team investigates material behaviors and predict material properties using theoretical and computational methods predicting the properties of materials and designing materials with the right properties if and when necessary. Thibault has been using CES Selector since the end of February 2018.

Charlie Bream is the Senior Product Manager for CES Selector at Granta Design. After completing his PhD on recycling of thermoset composites at Brunel University, he spent 15 years in industry working on the development of lightweight materials and structures for British Aerospace (Space Systems), Pera International, and NXT before joining Granta in 2007.
