With this new release of the leading materials selection software, CES Selector is being renamed GRANTA Selector. We are bringing our materials software products together under a single GRANTA brand as we join the ANSYS family, following our acquisition by ANSYS, Inc. The name change also reflects a refreshed look-and-feel for the product and will be marked by some great enhancements in the new 2020 version.
A refreshed Selector
With GRANTA Selector 2020, we’ve refreshed the user interface for a better user experience, with sharper, clearer icons and repackaging of Selector data so to make it easier to understand and navigate. GRANTA Selector – a new name, new look, new features, the same great CES materials selection technology.
Compare and select from global metals
The new ‘Global Metals Specifications’ dataset combines the MI-21, StahlDat SX and SteelSpec data previously available in Selector into a single resource, and adds new data from ASM Alloy Finder. This integration makes it easy to search and compare all metal specifications in one go, with improved global coverage.
Get curve data for better simulation
Find and apply reliable curve data for simulation: save time and avoid errors caused by manual input. It’s now easier quickly find all datasheets that include curve data for a specific property, and new export capabilities enable you to transfer this data to many leading CAE tools.
Find and apply the latest materials data
Key data sets have been updated, including: MaterialUniverse, Prospector Plastics, M-Base Plastics, JAHM Curve Data, the Senvol Database™, MMPDS, and StahlDat SX. The reorganization of data within Selector also makes it quicker to find all the available information for a material using keyword search and links.
New licensing options
GRANTA Selector now supports FLEX licensing technology. This provides more options for providing access to a wider user community, particularly of occasional users, and better tools for users to understand and control usage of licenses. Get in touch with your Granta or ANSYS sales representative to discuss how you can take advantage.
ANSYS Workbench users
GRANTA Selector is now interoperable with the ANSYS Workbench environment. Using GRANTA Selector at the start of your simulation project saves unnecessary simulation and development iterations by identifying the optimal material, or verifying your choice of material. Find optimal material candidates and export simulation-ready data back to Engineering Data in Workbench to facilitate further analysis.
